Squared School Academy of Mathematics was founded in 2013.  We are headquartered on the beautiful East Side of Providence, Rhode Island.

We provide a classical education in mathematics to children from Kindergarten to 12th grade.  The Oxford Dictionary defines classical as “regarded as representing an exemplary standard; traditional and long-established in form or style.”

We maintain the classical approach regardless of any educational trends to lower standards and inflate grades.  We embrace what has been empirically proven over centuries to produce results: setting high expectations, asking students for a sustained effort and commitment, and maintaining rigor in training and testing.

We emphasize students’ engagement, as we want their learning journey to be full of fascination, discoveries, and fun. We also embrace innovation - whether it is technology, novel teaching approaches, or continuous evolution of our curriculum - but only when these are used judiciously.  We avoid fads and gimmicks that may impress some, but are ineffective.

The ultimate goal is not just for our students to achieve good grades and high marks on standardized tests.  We want our students to develop a strong knowledge of a broad range of mathematical concepts, that, when explored deeply, reveal previously invisible patterns, logic, and interconnections.  Such growth leads, in the fullness of time, to developing a powerful analytical mind.
